A 12-year-old girl, who had gone to answer nature's call outside her house, was killed when a bunch of dogs attacked her in a village under Markachcho police station area of Jharkhand's Koderma district on Sunday morning. Koderma is one of the five open defecation free (ODF) districts in Jharkhand. According to the police, they got information about the girl, identified as Madhu Kumari, daughter of Umesh Singh, a resident of Bhagwatidih village in Markachcho (South) panchayat, was killed by the dogs on Sunday morning. "The information we got was that the girl had gone to answer nature's call and was surrounded and attacked by a bunch of dogs. There were attempts by some children to shoo the dogs away, but it was too late. They raised an alarm and alerted their family members. They also shooed away the dogs. But, by then, it was too late. No official complaint has been registered. We are treating this case as an accident," said Officer-in-charge (Markachcho), Arun Kumar.

The U. S. has experienced four hurricane disasters just this past year: Harvey in Texas and Louisiana in August; Irma, a particularly intense hurricane with winds of 185 miles an hour in the Caribbean reached south Florida in early September. Jose hit the East Coast of the U. S in late September. Maria, the most damaging on record in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands occurred in late September. Combined they cost $200B. The Atlantic had 17 named storms in 2017. See storm tracks here.
What is a hurricane? It is a violent storm the size of a tropical cyclone having sustained winds of over 74 miles per hour. There are five categories, defined by wind speed. When they move over land devastation is proportional to wind speed.
What causes a hurricane? The best answer requires a little bit of science. Water vapor is formed when water evaporates. It takes heat to overcome the attraction between water molecules that causes them to stick together to be a liquid. When enough energy is supplied, they can separate and each molecule goes its own way, up into the air. That moist air is lighter and tends to rise. As the reader knows, higher in the atmosphere the temperature goes down. When a mass of humid air reaches an altitude where it is cold enough, the heat is transferred to the air. The warmed air continues to rise, and the water condenses and falls out as rain. This is the source of rain and snow.
A tremendous amount of heat is needed to evaporate water, over five times as much as is needed to warm the water from the freezing point to the boiling point. This is released when it condenses back to water (rain). If a smaller mass of air hits a really cold layer, a thunderstorm results. If a moist area goes up to a cool, but not very cold air mass, rain occurs.
When very humid air over the ocean in a wide area rises to a cold level, it continues to rise as it drops rain. This rising draws up more humid air from below. The warm air spreads out in the upper atmosphere, forming a whirling cloud cover. More and more heat is drawn from the oceans top layer as the system spreads out. Winds rising in the interior of the s...
In particular, they assert that their livestock is being stolen, blaming Turks in neighboring towns.
A member of Georgias parliament, Enzel Mkoyan, visited the village the day after the protest to hear out their grievances. A large majority of area residents is ethnic Armenian.Georgia Turkey border crossing.
Residents told him that cameras on the Turkish side showed that the stolen animals had indeed been taken over the border. They also maintained that local authorities have been of little help.
We live on the border and are very worried, one of the villagers, Tsolak Martirosyan said at the meeting, according to an account by local news website JNews.ge. Why is the Turkish side equipped with video cameras, and our side isnt? What century do we live in?
The problem is not new, residents complained. A village nearby, Kartsakhi, staged a similar protest in 2015, threatening to obstruct the construction of a new international railway through the area unless the authorities took action to find stolen property.

The above video does a great job of going through some of the updates from the Q sources.
The Lord answered all our prayers when he stopped Hillary's steal of the election and we elected Donald J. Trump! And just as he promised, the swamp draining has begun. Tom Heneghan reports he cannot get full confirmation that the Bushes were taken to GTMO but nobody has seen them! Last known locations of the Bushes were in their roach nest at Kennebunkport Maine. Some people have said they are in GTMO but Tom like myself wants full confirmation on this before we get excited. We've seen how slippery these demons are so don't get excited until we know 100% that the Bushes are going to be put on trial for their treason. Obama, the Bushes and the Clintons must be fully exposed as the criminals they are for America to become free again! The fake news must be 100% destroyed for their support of these monsters.
Tom Heneghan does say there is no doubt Hillary has the military boot on her leg and has been classified as a threat to national security. She's not going anywhere without everybody knowing about it.

Mystic beings are a lot like crystal children but do have some differences. These people may not be as spiritually guided as those who are of the crystal variety but they are still quite important.
These are the people who are in-between, the ones who are meant to support those crystal children and really build the foundation for their own paths rather than going down one already laid out for them. People of this variety have a specific kind of temperament. They can be a bit confusing but are all the while pretty fantastic. Below you will find a list of signs that point to whether or not you are a natural mystic being.
You are able to look at things from the perspectives of others. This makes you the best person to go to for advice. Sure, you may favor your own opinion but that doesnt mean you cant see things from the point of view of someone else.
You break rules that need to be broken. When something is set in place just to waste your time or do you harm you will not stand for it. But hey, some rules were meant to be broken now werent they?
You know that there is a power inside of you and you will not let anyone take it away. You see the light shining inside everyone you come across and it is magical. The power within is much more than you think, it can work wonders for us all.
Those who are true mystic beings know that growing is something we never stop doing. They know that we grow in many ways and that we all grow at our own paces. This is something we should all learn to accept whether we are mystic or not.
You know that we all have something special inside of us. Sure, some people are a bit sour and you cannot see their good side right away but it is there. You believe everyone has good somewhere inside of them.
Your intuition is something you value big time. No one can sway you to ignore it. You know that when your insides are telling you something you should be listening.
You are not one to accept answers that lack meaning. A mere yeah or nah is not going to do it for you. When you ask for an explanation you are going to get one.
Cardiovascular medicines are key elements in preventing and
treating cardiovascular disease. This bulletin uses data on supply,
general practitioner (GP) prescriptions, use and expenditure to
highlight that cardiovascular medicines are most commonly used to
help control levels of blood pressure and blood lipids, such as
Over 100 million Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme/Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme prescriptions for cardiovascular medicines were dispensed to the Australian community in 2015. These comprised one-third (34%) of the total prescription medicines dispensed.
Blood pressure lowering medicines (such as perindopril and irbesartan) and blood cholesterol lowering medicines (such as atorvastatin and rosuvastatin) were the most commonly dispensed prescription medicines in Australia in 2015.
Almost 1 in 5 (18%) of all medications prescribed by GPs in 2015-16 were for the cardiovascular system, at a rate of 9.4 per 100 problems managed. Many of these prescriptions included orders for repeats.
Almost three-quarters (72%) of the estimated 4.1 million Australians who reported having a cardiovascular condition in 2014-15 had used a cardiovascular system medicine in the previous fortnight.

On today's episode of The Higherside Chats, old friend Crrow777
joins Greg Carlwood to talk censorship, solar lies, &
everything wrong with the Big Construct.
We live in a time where people are questions all aspects of reality, from the narratives we see on the nightly news to the sun, moon, stars and the Earthly environment itself. How can we not when we know the school system we're forced into was crafted with deception rather than a true attempt to cultivate the best and brightest.
We know think tanks and backdoor cabals have steered our culture to their liking for years, we've heard thousands of accounts of strange objects in the skies but have been stonewalled when it comes to answers, and we don't even know how to feed or take care of ourselves on the most basic of levels.
It seems all we can do is observe the holes in the official story while the world around us drinks the proverbial Kool-aid of our consensus reality cult, because it's clear nearly every aspect of time and space has been twisted for control.
But lucky for us we have a light in the darkness with his cameras aimed at the sky, a man working to peel the onion of lies down to it's very core. He's been here plenty of times before making the shortlist of gusts who's appearances exceed what I can count on one hand, the Pappa Bear of the Lunar Wave. My friend and yours. Breaking in the new year, Crrow welcome back to the Higherside.
00:1:40 Crrow details the censorship issues he's been having, expecially on YouTube. Crrow then expands on the unfortunate direction online censorship tends to be trending, in an era of what he refers to as 'a modern day book burning.
00:14:31 The conversation turns to the skywatching Crrow has done in the past year, how his thoughts about our construct have evolved since his last time on THC, and what last year's major solar eclipse seemed to reveal.
00:42:02 Greg brings up Crrows comment from last year that it's too early to form a better map of our construct, and asks if any progress has been made in that area since their last conversation.

Today is the Lesser Festival of the Ancient Greek God Dionysus,
God of revelry and wine.
Guess what some of you will get up to today!
1789 - The first European baby pupped on Norfolk Island, son of Superintendent Philip Gidley King and convict woman Ann Inett, was named (drumroll for those unimaginative parents) Norfolk.
You think that's bad, she had another son to King, back in Sydney that was named....Sydney.
1799 - Saw Bass and Flinders bobbing about in the Tom Thumb in and around Tassie and assorted islands, proving that the umbilical cord that once connected Tassie to the mainland was long gone; today they made a return visit to the Furneaux Islands for a cuppa tea on their journey back to Port Jackson.
1803 - Capt. Anthony Fenn Kemp and Lieuts Thomas Hobby and Nicholas Bayly arrested for being involved in "scurrilous attacks" on Gov King.
1804 - The first recorded cricket match took place in the New South Wales colony.
1810 The Derwent Star and Van Diemen's Land Intelligencer, Australia's second newspaper and the first in Van Diemens Land, began publication.
1814 - George Evans advocated building a road over the Blue Mountains, to follow in the tracks of Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth.
1818 - Gov Macquarie was a tad miffed at the Flogging Parson Samuel Marsden, accusing him of conspiracy (!!!) so he told him not to darken the doorstep of Govt House again!
1846 - Ursula Frayne, the leader of the first group of The Sisters Of Mercy, landed at Fremantle WA on this day.
1847 - George Barney and party leave Sydney in the barque Lord Auckland to found the Gladstonecolony in northern Australia centred on Port Curtis.
1849 - The Plymouth, the first of a number of ships carrying people to the California goldfields, left Port Jackson for San Francisco.
1867 - The Mining Corner buildings were removed in Ballarat.
1868 - The Earl of Belmore became the Governor of NSW. Of course he was second choice after Pearl the Pole Dancer of Digger's Ditch...
1872 - The Lydiard St, Ballarat, Wesleyan Sunday School opened.
1878 - Today was known as "Black Wednesday", when Victorian Premier Graham Berry wouldn't just take his bat and ball and go home but instead dismissed more than 200 public servants, starting with police and judges, in response to the upper house blocking his Appropriations Bill. Berry argued that without an Appropriations Bill they could not be paid. A fine time was had by all who weren't observing any laws...
1878 - The Melbourne to Portland railway line opened.
1881 - A cyclone, which killed 16 people, decimated the pearling fleet on the Ashburton River, WA.
Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, Michael Wolffs entertaining new book, is a mix of wishful falsehoods, compelling fictions, and a lot of stuff we already suspected about the White House. Even honest antagonists of Donald Trump can concede as much.
But treating it too seriously not only diminishes the president who does solid work on this front all by himself it diminishes journalism and incentivizes reporters to sensationalize their coverage, which is already a growing problem.
Even before I got my hands on Fire and Fury, the kind of fun book Ive been reading with high levels of skepticism for 20 years, Id run across a contention that I knew to be patently false. According to the author, the late Roger Ailes once suggested that the president-elect make former House speaker John Boehner his chief of staff. Trump, claims Wolff, answered, Whos that?
OMG! Donald Trump doesnt didnt know who John Boehner was in 2016! went the Twitter cry. But I had interviewed Trump in 2013 regarding the tax ceiling fight, long before ever contemplating his presidency, and it was obvious he knew Boehner rather well even if he knew virtually nothing about the debt ceiling.
Since then, reporters (many of them, it should be noted, are critical of Wolff) and others have uncovered plenty of evidence debunking the Boehner story, and numerous other assertions in the book. Not that this discouraged his antagonists. The president is suffering from dementia, they now argue an attack that comports neatly with the new push to overturn the 2016 election on grounds of the presidents mental fitness.
Perhaps he does have dementia. Or perhaps Trump misheard. Or perhaps Trump didnt recognize the pronunciation of the name. Or perhaps the president was mocking the choice of Boehner in the Trumpian style. Or perhaps the story never happened.
Thats the problem with a book of rumor-mongering. You can never know whats true, though people always tend to believe the tidbits that reinforce their worldview. Not that these sorts of tomes are new. Every president has his Kitty Kelley. What is new, though, is the wall-to-wall coverage of the book. Wolff has given outlets a convenient excuse to repeat unverified stories about the Trump administration that they couldnt talk about otherwise. In doing so, some are left to defend books abstract truths....
According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), overdose deaths involving prescription opioids were five times higher in 2016 than 1999. In that seventeen year period, over 200,000 Americans have died from opioid-related prescription overdoses. Every day, more than 1,000 patients are treated in emergency rooms and emergency departments for misusing prescription opioids.
One of the main reasons that the prescription drug crisis has gotten so bad is overprescription. One source notes, Painkiller abuse is particularly on the rise in adolescents who mislead prescribing physicians. The problem also exists with elderly patients and other legitimate prescription drug users, who sometimes use their access to opioids to supplement their incomes. The sad truth is that Medicaid patients can receive medications with a street value of up to $20,000 for a total out-of-pocket price less than $5 monthly. With easy access and the ability to make a sizeable profit, its no wonder that prescription drug use is out of control.
Unfortunately, existing methods dont do a good job of dealing with over-prescription. The CDC estimates that the U.S.s total spend on prescription drug abuse is $78.5 billion a year. This includes healthcare costs, productivity losses, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement. But regulatory bodies have been unable to prevent overprescribing from happening.
One reason for this is the inadequacy of prescription tracking methods. The current system relies on trustbetween the patient and his or her prescriber, between the prescriber and the pharmacy, and between the pharmacy and the patient. Handwritten, paper-based prescriptions can be easily forged, falsely signed, and altered. Doctors are often unaware that patients have seen multiple physicians in order to receive opioid treatment for the same problem. The entire system is in dire need of an overhaul.
Thankfully, one blockchain startup, BlockMedX, is in process of developing a proprietary platform that could stop the prescription drug crisis dead in its tracks. The platform gets rid of outdated handwritten prescriptions and provides a way for all parties to record an unchangeable history of prescriptions.
BlockMedX and the Advantages of a Blockchain Powered Prescription System
The BlockMedX platform runs on the Ethereum blockchain, which provided a cryptographically secure way to transmit prescriptions. The platform provide...
Billions of Sydneysiders have returned to work today feeling refreshed hatred for their jobs after experiencing two weeks of life outside the office.
One man said hed always known going to work was balls, but that after enjoying such luxuries as seeing his wife and kids and eating lunch away from his keyboard over the Christmas break, hed realised just how bad his working life was.
The holidays showed me that life could actually be rather good if you removed the work bit, he said. My hatred for what I do and the people I do it with has been fully reinvigorated over the break.
One woman said shed spent the last fortnight of her two-week break in a constant panic attack, fearing her return to the office.
The only thing getting me through is that there are only 50 weeks to go until next Christmas, she said.
As tensions grow, many believe the worst is to come. The CDC really has scheduled a briefing for later on this month to outline just how the public can prepare for any possible nuclear wars to come.
Most people do not know what they need to do in order to prepare for a nuclear war and being prepared is everything. If you are not prepared you will not last long. Most people dont know what they should or shouldnt do and in regards to fallout lets face it we are never going to be prepared enough.
While a nuclear detonation is unlikely, it would have devastating results and there would be limited time to take critical protection steps. Despite the fear surrounding such an event, planning and preparation can lessen deaths and illness. For instance, most people dont realize that sheltering in place for at least 24 hours is crucial to saving lives and reducing exposure to radiation. While federal, state, and local agencies will lead the immediate response efforts, public health will play a key role in responding.
This briefing will be presented by people who specialize in radiation studies and if you have been paying attention to President Trumps tweets is something we should have had long ago. In an interview with PBS NewsHours Judy Woodruff, former Vice President Joe Biden said that he agrees with Admiral Mike Mullens statement that the US has literally NEVER been closer to a nuclear exchange with North Korea.
He believes Nuclear War is almost inevitable and that it will be happening sooner rather than later. He claims there is no easy answer as to how to deal with the issues between the US and North Korea and definitely no easy way to relieve tensions.
When we engage in activities like lets compare the button, they all for different reasons and different motivations lose confidence in us.
They wonder what the hell were doing. Im worried they then decide theyre going to try separate ways to figure out how to do this.
This cant be done in a way that doesnt have all the players in the game on the same page and the other thing is you draw these lines and you dont respond, you diminish your credibility and its just dangerous....
Extreme cold wave conditions prevailed in most parts of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Lack of night shelters and amenities have already led to the death of over 70 homeless and poor people. Phone calls to senior officials, including Director Information Anuj Jha have remained unanswered. Twenty-two deaths have been reported from Poorvanchal; three each in Brij and Bareilly divisions; 11 in Allahabad division and 28 in Bundelkhand region. Two persons - Ram Kishore Rawat, 40, and Mahesh, 35, have died in Barabanki district due to the severe cold. One person died in Harchandpur in Faizabad, an infant in Ambedkarnagar, one in Rae Bareli's Makhdoompur and one in Unchahaar. A government official said that adequate arrangements have been made for bonfires and night shelters, though the ground realities were in stark contrast to these claims.

Everyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear knows that Hillary Clinton should already be in prison. Hillary was able to keep stealing and dealing for as long as she did because of the three corrupt people, namely. former President Obama, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and fired FBI director, James Comey and whole host of subordinates. However, none of these three are a in a position where they protect the beneficiary of the most corrupt criminal enterprise on the planet, The Clinton Foundation. Then why isnt Hillary Clinton locked up as current President Donald Trump has stated on multiple occasions? The answer to the question is that there is a fourth person who is just as corrupt and willing to commit malfeasance of office in order to keep Hillary Clinton a free woman and that person would be the obstructionist Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The case of the Russian collusion case being levied against President Trump has collapsed. In multiple MSM outlets, it has been convincingly demonstrated that the Clinton Foundation and the DNC paid $12 million for the fake Russian Dossier to be created and then used as a fraud against the President and the American people. The dossier was then used to falsely try and implicate President Trump for conspiracy to collaborate with the Russians designed to defraud the 2016 general election campaign.
Clintons actions even led to the use of a British spy who fabricated evidence against the President. In the process, elections laws were broken and the President was falsely smeared. This dossier became the reason for the special counsel, Congressional hearings and wall-to-wall news media false allegations against President Trump. This dossier was even used for FISA warrants for eavesdropping on the President and his staff...
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already fundamentally changing information technology and stands poised to permeate and transform technology both online and off ranging from manufacturing and transportation to medicine and military applications. The US, Russia and China have all noted that dominance in this field of technology will be an essential ingredient to holding global primacy in the near future.
What resembles a sort of arms race has emerged between prominent nations around the globe. Perhaps in an effort to provide the US with an edge, or perhaps in an effort to mitigate the impact of such an arms race, Google has opened an AI center in China.
CNN in its article, Google is opening an artificial intelligence center in China, would announce:
Despite many of its services being blocked in China, Google has chosen Beijing as the location for its first artificial intelligence research center in Asia.
The purpose of the center, according to CNN, citing Chinas desire to become a global leader in AI technology, will be to:
help China pursue its aim to become the global leader. The facility will employ a team of researchers who will be supported by engineers the company already has in China.
Considering Googles services being banned, blocked and otherwise unwelcomed in China, the question remains as to why exactly Google would seek to aid China in becoming a leader in AI technology Google itself seeks to position itself as a leader in.
This question may have been at least partially answered in a recent AI summit which included Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Googles parent company, Alphabet Inc.

Radio Birdman was one of the first Australian independent bands to carry the punk label. The name comes from a misheard The Stooges lyric from the song 1970 (the actual lyric is radio burnin).
They formed in Sydney, 1974 with Deniz Tek and Rob Younger wanted to create a band that challenged the commercial mainstream whilst being completely uncompromising. With the addition of Pip Hoyle on keys, Ron Keeley playing drums and bassist Carl Rorke, Radio Birdman started playing DIY shows in rented garages and community spaces after being rejected from multiple venues....
QUESTION: Hi Martin.
In your recent blog posts, you talk about the possible timing of the break up of Britain but you talk about that in terms of the regionalisation or break up of England only. Have you not said before that Scotland is likely to become independent sometime in the next few years? Perhaps you could explain how that possibility fits in this process?
ANSWER: There are two expansions on the island of Britain. The more commonly known is the formation of the United Kington which took place in 1707 under Queen Ann. That saw Scotland under English Rule and the birth of the United Kingdom. However, before the reign of Eadgar (959-975 AD), England was divided into Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. It was Eadgar who instituted a uniform coinage throughout the land and a single government. While Eadgar set the pattern for the reformed coinage of the later Anglo-Saxon and Norman period and standardized the use of the kings portrait as in old Roman tradition, it was all about creating BRITAIN as a nation-state.

It would appear some details regarding Venezuelas own cryptocurrency have come to light. We already know it goes by the name of Petro. Moreover, this is an oil-backed currency. It is also a response to the worsening financial crisis in Venezuela today. It seems President Maduro has ordered the issuance of 100 million Petros moving forward. An interesting decision, considering the whitepaper has yet to be revealed.
Everyone knows Venezuela is not a fun place to live right now. Growing inflation and no viable solutions create a very uneasy ecosystem. Issuing a national cryptocurrency seems to be the only option left worth exploring. President Nicolas Maduro has confirmed the Petro will come to market in the next few months. So far, no one knows the exact specifics of this currency, at least on the technical side. The value of this currency is backed by the countrys vast oil reserves.
It would appear the first batch of Petro coins will be issued soon. A supply of 100 million Petros will be brought into circulation. This number is not chosen randomly either Instead, it is based on national wealth. Every Petro has the same value as a barrel of Venezuelan oil. An interesting prospect, as it should ultimately inject a lot of money into this new currency. The big question is whether or not there will be any interest by foreigners to obtain this new currency.
It is also expected the think tank behind the Petro currency will convene next week. It will also be the first national meeting of this new currencys miners. For now, we still have no idea how this currency will be mined exactly. After all, since it is backed by oil reserves, there seems no reason to mine anything. A better option is to create batches of this currency like Tether does. For now, we have to speculate as to how things will play out for Venezuelas new currency.
When the whitepaper is unveiled, things will become a lot clearer. For now, no one in Venezuela knows what to expect from the Petro exactly. There are still a lot of questions which need to be answered, to say the least. It would also be good to know which blockchain will be used to issue this new currency. A private ledger seems to be the most obvious choice in this regard. How all of this will play out, has yet to be determined. Its certainly an interesting development to keep an eye on.

in a peaceable Manner, may not be molested in their Persons or Property by anyone; but that,
on the contrary, they may always be treated with Kindness and Attention, so as to conciliate them
as much as possible to our Government and Manners."
1814 - Australia's first boxing match took place in Sydney. John Parton defeated Charles Sefton over 56 rounds without Anthony Mundine in sight.
1830 - Explorer Charles Sturt had some spare time on his hands so he went for a jaunt by whaleboat down the Murrumbidgee River and entered "a broad and noble river" which he named the Murray River (14th January). By February he had eyeballed Lake Alexandria and began the return journey along the Murray River against the current. Each Aboriginal community along the river had its own name: to those of the lower river it was Murrundi, for those upstream near Echuca in Victoria it was Millewa, and near its source it was Indi.
Lake Alexandrina was variously called Parnka, Kayinga or Mungkulli.
1832 - George Augustus Robinson arrived in Hobart with Aborigines from Oyster Bay and Big River tribes - the so-called " last of the Aborigines" from settled districts - to be resettled in the Bass Strait islands.
The Hobart Courier reported on this day;
"It is with no small pleasure we announce the gratifying news that the whole of the Oyster bay and Big river tribes, the most sanguinary in the island, have surrendered themselves to Mr. Robinson, by whose conciliatory intervention the desirable event has been mainly brought about. 1838 - The first attempt to create a Native Police Corps in Victoria came unstuck on this day a bare 10 weeks after it was begun; the Superintendent , Christaan de Villiers, had spat the dummy and resigned due to the missionary George Langhorne sticking his nose in and making malicious complaints.

A police officer who shot and killed an innocent 68-year-old mentally ill veteran who accidentally hit the medical emergency button in his home, will face no consequences after acting U.S. Attorney Joon Kim determined that there was insufficient evidence to press charges. The victim, Kenneth Chamberlain, accidentally triggered a medical alert through "Life Aid," which prompted police to visit his home. When the officers arrived unexpectedly, Chamberlain told the responding officers that he was OK and did not need any help. He refused to answer his door, and instead called Life Aid and told them that he did not need the police at his home. "I have the White Plains Police Department banging on my door, and I did not call them and I am not sick," Chamberlain told the dispatcher on the phone. However, the officers refused to leave and initiated a standoff with Chamberlain, allegedly taunting him with racial slurs, according to his family.
In the United States, in 2017, according to the government data, eight events took place on American soil that were classified as acts of terrorism. The combined death toll from all eight terroristic acts in 2017 is 12. Twelve people were killed on American soil by other people attempting to make a political statement through an act of violence and yet we are told the threat of terror inside the United States is at an all-time high. Nothing could be further from the truth.
However, there is another number that is particularly worrisome and it has to do with how many people American police have killed this year. As of the publishing of this article, the number of people whove been killed by police in 2017 is 1,184. This is nearly 100 times the number of people killed by terrorists inside the United States this year and yet the government and the media at large remain entirely silent on this violent epidemic.
While the shootings in Nevada and Texas were horrific and some of the deadliest to take place on American soil, they are not technically classified as terrorism as they were not carried out in the name of a political ideology. Even if we include the deaths from these mass shootings, police have still killed far more people than all the mass shooters in 2017 combined.
Our televisions and politicians constantly remind us of this essentially nonexistent terror threat while ignoring the very real threat from law enforcement. The victims of law enforcement are written off by society because their guilt is assumed and therefore they are dehumanized easily dismissed.
When the ostensible protectors of our even more ostensible freedoms are nearly 100 times more deadly than the people we are told hate our freedoms, something is definitely wrong.
Why is it that cops in America kill more people than any other civilized country? Do we have a higher crime rate?
The short answer is no. If we look at our neighbors across the pond in the United Kingdom, their total crimes per 1,000 citizens is 109.9...
Why does it seem easier to imagine the end of the world than to see the end of capitalism? Part of the answer turns on a rift between radical economic and ecological thought.
As Kenya moves steadily towards its industrialisation dream (Vision 2030), the question of how to generate reliable power to meet the growing demand from households and industries continues to induce headaches, as local manufacturers cry foul over power tariffs that are higher than those in neighbouring countries.

The Indian government has been cracking down on cryptocurrency-related tax evasion. While the tax authority has notified crypto exchanges and wealthy traders that they must pay taxes, no clear guidelines have been provided. Indians are confused about how cryptocurrencies are taxed and seven bitcoin exchanges are asking the regulators for clarification.
The Indian National Tax Service has recently inspected top cryptocurrency exchanges as well as sent out notices to wealthy crypto traders informing them to pay taxes. However, the government has not issued guidelines on how cryptocurrencies are taxed, leaving crypto users and exchanges confused.
Humans have made a staggering amount of scientific and technological progress over the past century. Weve created technology that has transformed our society; scientific advances have helped us answer fundamental questions about who we are and the world that we inhabit. And, yet, mysteries persist.
Why are we compelled to sleep every night? Why are we still not able to see dark matter? And where the heck are all the aliens?
People have debated questions like these for decades sometimes centuries. Fortunately, our unfaltering will to uncover the worlds mysteries has brought us closer to some answers than ever before. Here are six mysteries that still keep scientists up at night, and how close they are to solving them.
Why do we need sleep? This may seem like a straightforward question, but the answer is far more complex than you might think. There have been countless attempts to find a definitive reason as to why humans need to sleep every night, but scientists are still unable to offer a single, definitive answer.
Findings in sleep science have shed some light on the intricacies of sleep stages and brain activity, but ultimately, they have merely offered pieces to an ever-growing, incomplete puzzle. It doesnt help that we dont have much to compare ourselves to as sleeping patterns and brain activity in other animals often deviate significantly from those of humans, further mysti...

War on homeless must be answered with a revolution against the ruling class
A WAR on homeless people has begun, with moves to make begging illegal, effectively criminalising poverty, while using the police to drive homeless people out of royal Windsor, and then presumably out of all towns and cities.
Tory Councillor Simon Dudley, of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead has vowed to drive every single homeless person out of the borough in time for the royal wedding in May, so that the sight of homeless people does not lower the tone of the royal wedding.
Dudley has now demanded that the police take immediate action to drive homeless people and desperately poor people begging for money out of the borough. In a letter written to the Berkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), he wrote: The whole situation presents a beautiful town in a sadly unfavourable light. The level of tourist interest is set to multiply with the royal wedding in May 2018, and there are increased concerns from our residents about their safety.
His attitude stinks of the arrogance and clas...
Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and inhuman.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Second National Convention of the Medical Committee for Human Rights, Chicago, March 25, 1966.
It is the year 2018, and yet not a day goes by when a patient is unable to receive good care or a doctor questions their career choice. How have we arrived at this tragic state of affairs? The answer is that our for-profit health care system is the principal cause, not only of poor patient care, but also of physician burnout. Only with a single-payer system, anchored not in the mores of capitalist plunder, but with the understanding that quality government-funded health care is an inalienable right, can both doctors and patients extricate themselves from this suffering.
Even amongst patients that are insured, restrictive health care plans force millions of Americans to work with doctors that they do not wish to work with. No less disconcerting is the fact that Americans are often compelled to stop working with doctors that they have known for years and do not wish to leave. In conjunction with a complicated health condition I have seen dozens of different doctors over the past two years. Should my insurance suddenly change, this painstakingly constructed system of specialists could come crashing to the ground. Moreover, being forced to leave a doctor that you have known for years is a shame, not only because no one will know your medical problems quite like they do, but because once a good doctor-patient relationship is lost it is gone forever.
This revolving door is also very harmful for physicians, because if a doctor has a practice with patients incessantly coming and going, this will invariably foment alienation which can be a driving force behind physician burnout.
The argument that a single-payer system would be impossible to implement in practice, is contradicted by the fact that the overwhelming majority of countries in the West from Vancouver to Vladivostok, have nationalized health care systems that guarantee universal coverage for all of their citizens. The GDP of Cuba is mere pennies compared to that of the United States, and yet all of their citizens enjoy excellent free health care, with an infant mortality rate lower than that of the United States. (They also enjoy superior literacy rates). How can we call ourselves a civilized nation when millions of Americans with serious illnesses are more fearful of bankruptcy and losing their insurance, than they are of death from widespread disease?
A single-payer system recognizes that it is deeply immoral and inhumane to give superior care to the upper middle class and affluent, while denying good care to vast segments of the population. In the absence of a nationalized health care system,....
A "mysterious void" has been discovered next to train tracks on the Cumbrian coast. The sinkhole is around 4ft deep and 2ft wide and was found in the village of Harrington. Engineers said the ground around the hole appeared to be "shifting". Services between Whitehaven and Workington were disrupted. Network Rail, which manages Britain's railway infrastructure, said in a statement: "Engineers are working to repair and make safe the section of line after the mysterious void appeared yesterday in the wake of Storm Eleanor." Phil James, head of operations for Network Rail's London North Western route, said: "Sinkholes are very unusual on the railway.

Oral health is a reflection of a healthy body. It is important to consume the right food and use safe products to ensure good oral health. The use of silver diamine fluoride has been frequently questioned for its side-effects. Although it is a naturally occurring mineral used in toothpastes to resolve dental problems, is it really worth it?
Former independent Black Ops Contractor Robert
Cody Snodgres took to the airwaves early last month to allege he
was offered a massive $1 million dollar paycheck from the CIA to
bomb the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City prior to the
mysterious deadly explosion in the 1990s, hours later he was in a
serious car accident according to reports.
The 1990s 9/11, so to speak, where evidence doesnt add up was originally and officially blamed on fertilizer bombs perpetrated by Timothy McVeigh and his accomplice Terry L. Nichols.
Its a weaved web of deceit; the investigation was a cover-up in every sense of the word, and may finally get wings for exposure.
The question is why if there is nothing to hide? That question may finally be answered with Snodgres, a career Independent Contractor.

Like the fictional JARVIS - which stands for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System - the technology will allow soldiers to converse with their omniscient companion to interpret threats in the field and analyse data with lightning speed. At the heart of the project is the need to offer troops a simple-to-use sidekick, to whom they can ask open-ended questions and receive considered answers quickly.

Join me, Jane Raffan, Monday 8 January, for a program about art, poetry and literature specifically focused on Sydney.
Hear interviews with Damien Minton about an exhibition at his former eponymous gallery called Five Bells a Visual Ode to Sydney.
Taking cues from Kenneth Slessors poem voted Australias best poem by ABC listeners in 1988 and Delia Falconers recent book on Sydney, the group exhibition featured works by forty artists across a range of media and styles, offering the chance to reflect on a Sydney many of us may not recognise.
Kenneth Slessors famous poem can be found here: http://treasure-explorer.nla.gov.au/closerlook/slessors-five-bells
And the playlist? A mix of contemporary Australian songs about Sydney (mostly contemporary!), including Paul Kellys musical take on Slessors Five Bells.
And if you are interested in musical inspirations from this famous poem, heres a short list to investigate:
